Victaulic was founded in New York City in 1919 to market a radical new concept in the piping industry — a mechanical bolted coupling that engages into grooves and uses a gasket seal. The concept originated during World War I for rapid deployment of fuel and water lines to Allied forces.
Combining the words "VICtory" and "HydrAULIC," the company name was born — and for more than 100 years, Victaulic has forged new paths tackling the industry's most unique challenges.
The grooved piping method dramatically reduces installation time compared to welding, threading or flanging.
It is now used extensively in HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, water and wastewater treatment, oil field operations, mining, industrial processes, power plants, and military and marine systems.
What began as a faster, easier and more economical way of joining pipe has evolved into a total "systems" approach. Victaulic offers complete, start-to-finish solutions that anticipate a project's every need.
The grooved-piping method accommodates most piping materials — lightwall, standard and extra-heavy steel, stainless, aluminum, PVC and other plastics, plus HDPE. Products for copper tubing (CTS) and ductile iron (AWWA) are also available.
Victaulic products are manufactured to ANSI, DN, JIS, CIS, AS and BS piping standards, with unique joining methods like Aquamine spline-joined PVC and Depend-O-Lok large-diameter couplings.
The Macomb Group stocks Victaulic at locations across Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio and Tennessee.
